    According to India Brand Equity Foundation, the total healthcare industry size is expected to touch $280 billion by 2020.

    Technology advancement, the rise in consumerism and the diversified ways healthcare is delivered have changed healthcare industry in our country.     The program prepares a diverse group of people to become future managers and attain leadership positions within healthcare provider organizations. Healthcare administration involves effective management of patient care, improving client experience and managing of hospital records and filing system. The program promotes exceptional analytical and communication skills in a student, foster innovation and strong commitment to community service. Healthcare administrators may also be involved in the organization and development of health care policies.

    Curriculum: the curriculum is limited to hospital operations, quality and accreditation, hospital facility management etc.

    Core competencies:

    • Healthcare administrators’ major competencies include comparing the major settings for, and types of, healthcare services, including individual and population health, and payers.
    • They use organizational behavior concepts to resolve issues and make decisions in the day-to-day management of healthcare firms.
    • They are solely responsible for explaining the roles of, and relationship between, electronic medical records and financial data systems for clinical and strategic decision-making.
    • They will analyze the effects of health policy on providers, payers and diverse populations.

    MBA Healthcare Management

    An MBA in Health Care Management is a program which focuses on overall business in healthcare or medical facility, with its core business courses covering skills transferrable to any industry, including analytics, accounting, leadership and finance. The degree will help you earn deep understanding of the structural and administrative elements of the healthcare system. The specialization will prove to be a transition degree for someone who doesn’t have a healthcare background. Healthcare managers are primarily business people and not typically medical practitioners.

    Curriculum: the curriculum includes all hospital related services, including universal healthcare, healthcare technology, public health, health insurance and TPA`s, Healthcare, NGOs, Healthcare service planning and management etc.

    Core competencies:

    • Healthcare managers’ major competencies include designing and analyzing business, financial and marketing strategies.
    • They oversee business and operational aspects of a healthcare or medical facility, maintaining the financial integrity of the firm. They assess financial risk and manage assets of the company by collecting and interpreting financial data.
    • They are responsible for recruiting and training facility staff members and also oversee facility staff to insure quality patient care in the healthcare facility.
    • They are liable to evaluate and revise business plans.
    • They need to coordinate with physicians and others to boost profits and enforce organizational policies and procedures in a healthcare system
