“Through the risk-sharing agreement signed between USAID and DHFL, will be able to provide up to $10 million to small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the health sector in India, prioritizing lending to women entrepreneurs,” the two organisations said in a joint statement.

Through this partnership, both the organizations intend to increase their outreach to de-risk and improve access to finance for the Indian healthcare sector, helping many professionals to buy equipment to improve diagnosis and treatment, and improve the viability of their enterprises.

USAID in India under the scheme is likely to focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns in states like Rajasthan, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, where healthcare access is lower than the national average.
